Project Summary

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, 360 video content is more relevant than ever as it can bring immersive experiences to people in the comfort of their own homes. It may be a while before people can visit the theatre again but, in the meantime, and perhaps from now on, 360-degree theatre will be a viable alternative. However, there is no guarantee that traditional conventions of theatre will seamlessly transfer to 360. This study will involve transferring specific theatrical conventions to 360 video and determine which conventions should be borrowed from the stage and which should be left behind.
